Preparations in full swing in Florence to celebrate the New Year 2011. The Florentine Major Matteo Renzi has announced that in the night of 31st December in three squares of the historic centre free concerts will be organized to inaugurate the new year with the rhythm of the music. Doubtless the most important event will be the concert in Piazza Stazione, where the Italian band “Elio e le Storie Tese” will perform, but exhibitions in New Year’s Eve are not finished: in Piazza della Repubblica the Tuscan band “Funck Off” will do a soul, funky and jazz concert, in Santissima Annunziata Square you can sing with the gospel music, while in Piazza della Signoria the classical music dominates the scene with the concert of the conductor Giuseppe Lanzetta. Four special events with which the city hall hopes to sell out in the hotels of the city.

For New Year’s Eve the public transport service working in Florence will make special travels and timetables to facilitate the access to the historic centre and allow to bus and tramway passengers to participate at New Year’s celebrations.
